10 Steps to Clean a Hotel Room in 30 Minutes

1. Strip the beds

a.    once inside start the clean by stripping the sheets.

b.    use the dirty fitted sheet as a package for the rest.

2. Next inspect bed for stains and smooth out the mattress. Make the bed, following any specific hotel standards – whilst checking the sheets, duvet covers and pillows for stains, tears and any hairs.

3. Then remove the dirty linen and any rubbish from the room. Make sure to check all visible surfaces for rubbish not forgetting inside the drawers.

4. Dusting - the room should be dusted from the top of the highest piece of furniture or picture frame to the bottom of every chair, not forgetting lamp shades.

5. Wipe down all hard surfaces

a.    we highly recommend a colored coordinated cleaning regime to prevent cross contamination. A clean set of cleaning clothes should be used for each room.

b.    It is important not to forget to sanitize the remote control, all knobs, light fixtures, locks, computer equipment and telephones (especially any telephones in the bathroom)

6. Special attention should be paid to the cleaning of the bathroom including toilet seats and handles. From the showerhead to floor tiles all traces of the previous guest must be removed, especially any hair! Chrome is to be shined so no watermarks show. Change the shower curtain if it’s dirty. Replace towels.

7. Make sure all other items provided by the hotel, such as laundry bags, laundry slips, and do-not-disturb signs and in room guest guides are replaced. Make sure the alarm clock works, is set to the correct time with the alarm off.

8. Check the pillows and curtains are in good shape and in the proper position in accordance with the hotel requirements.

9. Vacuum out the door

a.    make sure carpets are free from any spots and tears. Remove any spots from the carpeting or upholstery with a cleaning product made specifically for carpet and upholstery. Like the Cleantec Spot Remover Wipes TIP

b.    These wipes are really handy when it comes to removing scuff marks on walls.

c.    Vacuuming helps maintain hotel carpets, avoiding any buildup of dirt and dust. If done correctly vacuuming and immediate spot removal reduces the need for chemical cleaning.

10. Leave the room with a neural odor and at a balanced temperature. Vacuuming your way out of the room.
